Authority Magazine: Pat Utz of Abstract On Pushing the Boundaries of AI
Abstract CEO & Co-Founder Pat Utz sits down with Authority Magazine for their series on “Pushing the Boundaries of AI.”
“I believe in a democratic country such as the U.S., the public has the right to full transparency into the very proposed laws and policies that will affect them personally and have ramifications for cities, counties, states, or the entire country. The public should be able to see where the levers of influence and power are.”
- Pat Utz
Abstract CEO and Co-Founder Pat Utz recently joined Authority Magazine for an in-depth conversation as part of their “Pushing the Boundaries of AI” series. The discussion centered on the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence and Abstract’s pioneering mission to enhance regulatory insight and transparency. Pat shared the company’s vision to “identify and predict regulatory impact by leveraging AI to ingest, interconnect, and predict policy changes across all levels of government.”
Pat's passion for creating clarity in complex systems stems from his upbringing in a household where discussions about geopolitical policy were a constant. Inspired by this foundation, he teamed up with co-founders Mohammad Hayat and Matthew Chang in 2019 to launch Abstract. The company is dedicated to demystifying regulatory processes and enabling organizations to stay ahead of policy changes.
“In our case, the problem we are trying to solve is the inaccessibility around legal codes and regulatory changes. It is really hard to understand what governments are doing at all levels — local, state, and federal — because there is a major lack of accessibility. Our team has fine-tuned the systems of AI models so that they are able to break down complex legislative documents for legal and policy teams.”
By combining cutting-edge AI with a commitment to government transparency, Abstract is empowering businesses to navigate an ever-evolving regulatory landscape with confidence.
